I believe we shouldn't have the death penalty justified. First off, in my opinion i believe life in prison is a greater punishment. The capital punishment costs more on average than housing a criminal for life. Why should the tax payer pay more per criminal when they could pay less? lets just keep the prisoners in jail for life. Its important to keep the murderer in jail so that their will have 0% chances of killing again. Plus its also a cruel thing to do. Mistakes can be made in execution. sometimes the criminals are hanged, but strangle to death. sometimes, criminals don't die. Still taking the effects being electrocuted, but still being alive, taking the pain of the volts. Either way the death penalty does NOT bring back a loved one.
If Jesus wouldn't do it, why would you. The bible says "You shall not kill." its one of the ten commandants. In spite a common assumption to the contrary, "an eye for eye & a tooth for a tooth," Doesn't give justification for the imposing of the penalty of death.
Till Today, there are many pros & cons to this issue but i stand by my case.
